IMPACT Wrestling - (March 23rd, 2021)

Show Opening

We enter the Skyway Studios arena in Nashville, Tennessee for the Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 edition of IMPACT Wrestling following last week's IMPACT Wrestling - Sacrifice 2021 Fall-Out Edition that continues to spill over the action to this week's show! We start tonight off with a "welcome" from the IMPACT commentary team of D-Lo Brown and Matt Striker as they sit at their front-row seat at the announcer's table by ringside!

We are informed that prior to this evening's edition of IMPACT Wrestling, Tasha Steelz (w/ Kiera Hogan) defeated Alisha on Before The Impact!

Backstage - Kenny Omega and Don Callis

Before we head into the first official match-up of the evening, we head backstage where we see the current reigning AEW Champion Kenny Omega, as well as Don Callis as they are making their way into the studio. Next we return to the main area as the first match is ready to get underway!

Deonna Purrazzo (w/ Susan) vs Jazz (w/ Jordynne Grace)

We head to the ring for the first match up of the evening. After the ring entrances of Deonna Purrazzo, who is accompanied by Susan as well as the entrance for Jazz, who is accompanied by Jordynne Grace, we have both members inside the ring as the referee makes his way to the center of the ring. The referee signals for the bell, the bell rings and te first match up of the evening is officially underway! To start we see Jazz cornering Purrazzo as she gets a lock-up locked in then fakes a Right Hook causing Purrazzo to wince. Jazz just smiles as she continues on, proud of the fear she put into Deonna. At this point we see Deonna once again locking up with Jazz with a Front Chancery.

Next we see Jazz retaliate as she reverses into a Hammer Lock on Deonna. After that Jazz rolls Deonna for a pin-fall attempt, but Deonna is able to kick out. Again Jazz rolls Deonna up and again Deonna is able to kick out in time as the match continues. At this point we see Jazz as she throws several Jabs at Deonna who counters into a Fujiwara armbar. Jazz drops Deonna with a right hand before Deonna hits a drop toe hold and drops Jazz with a pump kick before locking in a Rear Chin Lock Deonna then Strikes Jazz hard across her chest before locking in a Chin Lock on Jazz.

Finally Jazz hits a Jawbreaker to break the hold by Deonna to continue the match up. Deonna charges at Jazz at this point, but instead of getting Jazz, Deonna slams hard into the ring post, causing her to fall to the outside of the ring. Next we see a quick pin-fall attempt. It is followed up with a kick out at the two. Susan breaks up the count. Jordynne Grace walks over to confront Susan. Suddenly we see Susan sneak in an assist as she lands a strike to Jazz with her heel! Deonna uses this to her immediate advantage as she then rolls Jazz up for the three count pin and the win.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

Backstage - The Good Brothers

Following the match, we again head backstage where Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson of The Good Brothers are telling a story to charm the security of the locker room backstage. Suddenly they are interrupted by Eddie Edwards who tells them they have to leave the are. As they go to make their exit, they make note that they are going to hang out with Kenny Omega and Don Callis in the RV in the parking lot of Skyway Studios. As they walk away, they stand face-to-face with Decay. With that, we head to commercial break!

Swinger's Palace

We head into a video that highlights Swinger's Palace where Johnny Swinger is promoting the casino. After that we return to the backstage area.

As we head backstage, we see Fallah Bahh is sleeping, and Rohit Raju notices this as well as he comes up on him. As Raju wakes him, Bahh admits that he’s been gambling his money away at Swinger’s Palace. Raju begins to make fun of him for it. Bahh is angered by this and proceeds to challenge Raju to a match-up later tonight. After that, we head to the next match up of the evening back inside the ring.

X-Division Championship Match
Ace Austin (w/ Madman Fulton) vs TJP

We first get the entrances for TJP and Ace Austin, who is accompanied by Madman Fulton with both making their way to the ring where they stand in opposing corners as the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and our second match-up of the evening for the X-Division Championship is officially underway! To start the action off, we see both TJP and Austin meet in the center of the ring where they proceed to grapple their way across the canvas.

Next we see Austin back to his feet as well as TJP as they both run the ropes before TJP lands a Dropkick to Austin. To retaliate, Ace Austin hits a Springboard Roundhouse Kick for the cover! TJP is able to get the shoulder up just in time for the referee to stop at the two count to continue the match. Next we see Austin land a Superkick. We then see TJP make his way to the corner of the ring where he then begins to climb the turnbuckles as he makes his way to the top, followed by TJP landing a Front Suplex on Austin from the top turnbuckle as we head to the commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, we see that Ace Austin has TJP in a single leg crab. TJP rolls it around and torque’s Ace’s knee. Ace however, wings the arms behind the back of TJP. TJP powers through and turns it into an abdominal stretch before a pin attempt.

A knee strike in the corner downs Austin before giving the champ a boot watch. Big spinning kick by Austin before hitting a jumping leg drop on TJP for a near fall. Hard forearms by Ace, but TJP turns it into a big German suplex. Octopus stretch. Ace gets to the ropes which causes TJP to climb up top for his Mamba Splash. Fulton grabs TJP’s leg, but leaps off. Austin gets his knees up for a near fall.

Soon enough, TJP executes the Detonation Kick and then hits his Mamba Splash. It’s almost a win, but Fulton dives in and breaks it up for the disqualification.

Winner: TJP (By Disqualification)

After the Match

Immediately following the match, we see both Madman Fulton and Ace Austin head in and proceed to attack TJP.

Josh Alexander

As TJP is getting attacked in a two on one match aftermath, all of a sudden, Josh Alexander's entrance theme sounds as he rushes out to ringside and immediately goes at Fulton and Austin for the save for TJP!

Backstage Interview - Matt Cardona

Next we head into a backstage interview conducted by Gia Miller who is sitting across from Matt Cardona who is ready to begin his interview. Miller begins by asking Cardona about his IMPACT tenure so far and he says the company is what he loves about pro wrestling. He continues on to state that he sees all the talent here, and he definitely cannot wait to compete with them! Next he gets into the topic of his social media presence as he states how he always has to stay on it.

Cardona continues on to state that he LOVES pro wrestling and explains how you have to love it for the good times and the bad times. Miller again asks a question, this time about Brian Myers. Cardona then begins to recount his history with Myers. He follows up as he makes it clear he didn’t come here to fight Myers, but it’s time to put up or shut up. The Major Brothers explode!

Backstage - Trey Miguel and XXXL

Next we run into Trey Miguel who is clearly angry about something as XXXL suddenly enters into the frame with Trey. Dreamer immediately looks to Trey as he jokes about having an exploding barbed wire match. Larry D and Acey basically walk off as Dreamer asks Trey if he’s okay. Trey wants to fight Acey tonight. Tommy says go talk to Scott D’Amore but he wants to talk about Hardcore Justice. Trey doesn’t care about that and wants to break Acey’s neck. Tommy warns him not to go down that violent path.

Rohit Raju vs. Fallah Bahh

We return to the ring where the entrances are completed for both Rohit Raju and Fallah Bahh as they are eager to get this match going. The referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and the match is officially underway! Bahh bats off Raju and flourishes it with a belly to back for a two count. Raju catches Bahh with a Steve Austin elbow before talking smack to the big man while he’s down.

Rohit hits Bahh with some punches, but that only boils Bahh’s blood. A flurry of kicks however downs Bahh for a two count. Next we see Raju as he awkwardly wrenches Bahh’s arm, as Bahh shouts in pain. Attempting to make his way free, Bahh proceeds to land several chops to Raju, ultimately forcing him to break his hold and taking him down to the canvas. This is followed up with a Twisting Powerslam to Raju by Bahh. Next Bahh proceeds to drags Raju over for a Banzai splash. Raju rolls out of the way and hits a huge double stomp that leads into the cover.

Bahh successfully kicks out at the two, as the match then continues. Both men make their way back to their feet at this point. Looking to end the match quickly, Raju charges at Bahh with his Running Knee but Bahh already sees what's coming and is able to evade the move and counter with a Headbutt of his own that sends Raju down to the canvas! At this point, Raju makes his way back to his feet and he then successfully hit his Running Knee on Bahh! A reversal by Bahh during the move allows Bahh to drop all of his weight on top of Raju. At this point we see Raju looking to finish the match as we see Raju move out of the way and then follows up by a Crucifix to Bahh and for good measure grabs his tights for the 1-2-3 pin and win!

Winner:: Rohit Raju

We head backstage once again as we see Gia Miller who stands waiting to catch an interview with the AEW Champion Kenny Omega as he walks out of his dressing room with Don Callis. As they make their way out of the dressing room, it is stated that that definitely ain't gonna be happening as he and Kenny plan to address it all in the ring after break. With that, we head to the commercial break!

Paid Advertisement

As we head into this week's paid advertisement, we see that the Two Tonys are standing backstage with Don Callis and Kenny Omega for a paid ad. To start off, Tony Schiavone previews tomorrow’s edition of Dynamite. Next we hear from Khan as he says they invited Kenny and Don to talk about the huge implications to take place tomorrow night if Matt Sydal defeats Omega in the main event tomorrow. Kenny isn’t pleased and he and Don eventually walk off as Schiavone runs down the rest of the card.

Backstage - The Good Brothers

As we return from the commercial break, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson of The Good Brothers are standing outside of AEW Champion Kenny Omega's door as they proceed to knock loudly on it. They wait, then knock again. Clearly, Omega is currently not there and so with that, they walk off.

In-Ring - AEW Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis

We return to the ring inside the Skyway Studios arena in Nashville, TN as both AEW Champion Kenny Omega as well as Don Callis make their way out as Kenny's entrance theme sounds over the speakers in the arena. They make their way into the ring and are handed microphones to begin their statement. To start off, Kenny states that he really isn’t happy with the operation in the IMPACT Zone. Don says Kenny can fire whoever he wants.

Don continues on to state that soon this will be Kenny’s home as he wins the IMPACT World Championship. Don then recounts his interaction with Rich Swann last week. He proceeds to put Swann over as he states that Swann is a "great guy" and very talented. Callis then switches up a bit as he state that the one thing he can never get out of his head is the One Winged Angel! Kenny relishes in that. Forever it will run in Rich’s head.

Don continues on as he says he can prepare all he wants, but no one has kicked out of that move. Kenny thinks he needs more gold. Don runs down a list of legendary names who Kenny is bigger than and Omega adds Ibushi. Don says he’s prepared to do something. That’s anything it takes to preserve the legacy of Omega. Callis is prepared to suck every ounce of blood out of this company for the sake of Kenny. That’s gonna start with Rich Swann. Don has put together a tribute to Kenny’s One Winged Angel. HE plays it. Kenny likes it.

He said ever since he came to IMPACT, there was this encompassing fear. There is no reason for him to be there aside from what Rich is currently holding. Unfortunately for him, Swann will be just a footnote in a history-making moment. He doesn’t recall any of Swann’s wrestling history, and says his IMPACT tenure has been Rich’s career highlight, but to Kenny it’s just Tuesday. Those fears Rich has is all going to come true at Rebellion.

Until Kenny slips on a banana peel, no one is going to take the belt off him. He tells IMPACT to consider it one of their last days of grace. Kenny says this is more than any amount wrestling, this is history. At Rebellion, Don says he and Kenny will make history!

Jailhouse - Eric Young and Rhino

Next we head to a Jailhouse where we come up on Eric Young who is with Rhino. Young starts as he says he baptized Rhino in the holy waters of change. We see that Rhino has frizzy hair and is wearing an army jacket as he says, "the world belongs to us." That's sweet.

Backstage - Havok and Nevaeh

At this point we head backstage where we see both Havok and Nevaeh standing together as they look to be back on the same page. Next we see Fire N Flava enter. Kiera starts as she says they can step up to the plate again but it definitely won’t be for the titles again. Kaleb and Tenille enter. When is the last time they won a match by themselves. Havok makes it clear she isn’t interested. Tenille says she wasn’t talking to her but she was talking to Nevaeh. On that note, they walk off.

Acey Romero (with Larry D) vs. Trey Miguel

We head to the ring for the fourth match-up of the evening as we get entrances from both Trey Miguel and Acey Romero (accompanied by Larry D) respectively as they make their way to their official corners for the match-up. The referee then heads to the center of the ring where he calls both men forwards as he signals for the bell. The bell rings and this match is officially under way! To start off the action, Trey hits not one, but two Dropkicks to Acey back to back.

Next we see Acey counter with a powerful Uranage to Trey. As Trey makes his way back to his feet, he heads up to the top and then Trey proceeds to dive onto Acey on the outside. Back in the ring, Acey catches Trey with a sidewalk slam and we head to commercial break.

As we return from the commercial break, we witness a Front chancery from Acey. Trey fights off but a rolling pin and a big splash by Acey. Two count. Surfboard Stretch by Romero. Miguel rolls trough, and hits a Jumping Neck-breaker from the turnbuckle. Acey is dazed. Hard elbows from Trey. An Enzuguri gets a near fall. Trey goes to springboard attack off the ropes but Acey nails him with a Pounce. 1-2-no!

Finally we see Trey make his way to the corner of the ring where he proceeds to climb to the top turnbuckle. He waits a moment and then Trey leaps in with a Meteora from up top that ultimately ends with a cover. The referee counts 1-2-3 and Trey Miguel wins with the three count pin and win victory!

Winner: Trey Miguel

After the Match

Wasting no time following the match, we see XXXL gang up on Trey. The IMPACT Zone glitches and at this point we see Sami Callihan appear as he proceeds to save Trey. Next we see Trey turn to look for a kick to Sami but a phone hack suddenly causes him to vanish.

Backstage - Rich Swann

Gia is backstage with Rich. A little jive talk isn’t going to get his mind flustered. They don’t really know Rich then. He’s had to battle adversity his entire life. Broken legs, early retirement, all that Rich has been through, no mind games will throw him off. That One Winged Angel did put him down, but you take all those other competitors out of Hard To Kill it’s just him and Swann.

Gia notes that James Storm has 999 matches. That’s a lot of bumps on the bump card, Storm says. He calls out Violent By Design, specifically Eric Young. Next time they come face-to-face, he’s his huckleberry. Enter Scott D’Amore. Next week in the main event, it will be back to their roosts Eric Young vs. The Cowboy. “Eric Young, sorry about your damn luck.”

Karl Anderson (with Doc Gallows) vs. Eddie Edwards

We head to the ring once again to begin the MAIN EVENT match-up of the evening. We get the entrances of Karl Anderson (accompanied by Doc Gallows) and Eddie Edwards respectively. With both competitors inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings, and we kick off this main event match up in style! To start the match, Eddie is places in an immediate Side Headlock by Karl Anderson.

Anderson is then taken down with a Headlock by Eddie! Next we see a Manhattan Drop followed by a Belly-to-Belly Suplex and finishing up with a Lariat that sends Karl tumbling to ringside. At this point, Eddie dives on top of both Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson at ringside as we head to the final break of the evening.

Back from the final commercial break of the evening, we see that now Eddie is in control until Gallows grabs the ropes and it allows Karl to take advantage. The referee informs Doc Gallows that he is to sit down and stay seated. Karl continues to control the match by sending Eddie hard into the far corner before stepping on his head. Anderson then gives Eddie a hard shot following up with multiple Elbows to Eddie's head. Next Eddie is placed in a Headlock on the canvas by Anderson. Eddie attempts to fight his way back to a vertical base to no avail.

Karl then proceeds to yank Eddie by his braids! Anderson then grinds his boot against Eddie’s face. Next we see a Big Shotgun Elbow by Anderson for the cover. Eddie is able to kick out at the one count. The match continues! At this point we watch as Karl Anderson works on the arm of Eddie, but Eddie elbows back. Side kick to Eddie’s gut before Karl hits a running clothesline. Side headlock on the mat by Anderson once more. Eddie Elbows out of it. European uppercut by Anderson buys some time. Eddie then lands several blows on Anderson as he looks for the upper-hand in the match up. Anderson then gets hit with a Backpack Stunner by Edwards. Cover for a two count.

Eddie hits Anderson with a harsh forearm to hit a blue thunder bomb and it’s a very close fall. They trade haymakers. Then they trade forearms. Headbutt to the shoulder downs Anderson, but Karl hits him with a push kick for a two count. At this point we notice that Anderson is getting frustrated. Next we see both men as they make their way on to their feet. Anderson then goes for a Gun Stun but a Roaring Elbow by Eddie immediately downs Anderson.

After that we see Eddie send Gallows off the apron to the floor at ringside. Eddie then pulls Anderson back into the ring and proceeds to sit on top of Anderson for a roll-up pin attempt. Not going out like that, Anderson quickly pushes Eddie off and sends him into a chair held by Gallows. Ref doesn’t see it and it gives Karl the three count pin and win.

Winner: Karl Anderson (representing The Good Brothers)

After the Match

Immediately following the match, the camera pans over to the big screen above the stage where we see FinJuice gloating. He smiles at the fact that the IMPACT Tag Team Titles in Japan and The Good Brothers are seemingly pissed about it!
