He’s better than you… and you know it.
The AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event was full of action, surprises, new Inner Circle happenings, and titles exchanged… and that was all before the main event!
Maxwell Jacob Friedman headed into his match with Chris Jericho prepared to do whatever it took to win, as his reward was not only the victory over Le Champion, but he would also win a spot on The Inner Circle’s crew.
The match started off like any other match they’ve been in, quick moves, clever remarks back and forth, all the entertainment value a wrestling fan could ask for. At this pay-per-view event, MJF had to outsmart Le Champion if he wanted a chance to defeat the 30+ year wrestling veteran. And that’s just what he did.
Mid-match a sneaky, albeit clever, maneuver delivered by MJF while Referee Aubrey Edwards was distracted by Wardlow, MJF feigned being struck with a baseball bat that was thrown in by Jake Hager and caught by an unknowing Chris Jericho in the center of the ring. Edwards turned around just as a pseudo MJF fell to the canvas, playing up his “injury” at the hands of Le Champion. Jericho tried to quickly drop the bat and explain the ploy when MJF snuck up behind Jericho, rolling him up in a cradle for the three count pin and win!
What else can we say… @The_MJF is always a step ahead! #AEWFullGear

MJF winked at the camera and kissed his ring immediately following the three count, a smile raised from ear to ear across his face. He quickly changed his expression as the referee checked on him, MJF grabbed his mid-section and stumbled forward to continue to feign the illegal attack by Jericho even post-match.
A man of his word, Chris Jericho looked to MJF as he extended his hand in a good sportsman’s/victory-handshake, and reached in to shake MJF’s hand. Wardlow and Jake Hager staring daggers at one another from ringside, and an “Inner Circle! Inner Circle!” chant begins in the crowd. Jericho then announced to the entire Daily’s Place crowd, “Welcome, MJF and Wardlow… to the Inner Circle!” Once again MJF smiles ear to ear.

Jericho heads to the ropes to exit the ring, and MJF sits on the middle rope to assist Jericho’s exit from the ring.
