Ivar of the Viking Raiders suffered a cervical/neck injury last week on Raw and we reported recently that a decision was still not made on whether he would have to undergo surgery to fix the damage.
On yesterday’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Ivar will indeed be going under the knife in Birmingham, AL later today and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Ivar hurt himself when executing a suicide dive to the outside and immediately knew something was wrong as he himself threw up the “X” sign to alert the referee and medical staff.
The match finish soon followed and the next day, WWE confirmed that he was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons and was diagnosed with a cervical injury, which was worrisome as he had previously injured his neck.
