— Last night, it was announced that AJ Styles will defend his Intercontinental title against Jeff Hardy next week on Friday Night Smackdown. On the episode yesterday, Styles came to the ring with Mr. Joseph Parks (aka WWE producer Chris Parks who is more popularly known as Abyss) and proclaimed that there was nobody worthy enough to be the next challenger for his title, prompting Jeff to come down and ask for a title shot. While Styles did decline that offer, Hardy attacked him and Parks and it was later confirmed by WWE that this match is now official.
