Jim Ross Says Deal For WWE To Buy TNA Tape Library Is “Imminent”

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross dropped somewhat of a potential bombshell during the latest episode of his weekly “Ross Report” podcast, which dropped on Tuesday evening at PodcastOne.com.

According to “Good Ole’ JR,” WWE could soon be adding the TNA library to their massive collection of historic pro wrestling video tape libraries, which are used for a wide-variety of programming on their WWE Network digital platform.

“WWE is allegedly very close to buying the TNA library,” noted Ross during the episode, which also featured an interview with WWE Hall Of Famer Joe Laurinaitis, best known to WWE fans as “Animal” of the legendary Road Warriors / Legion of Doom tag-team. “Not the promotion, the TNA library. Obviously, with WWE Network, the TNA library could be a nice resource, a nice asset.”

Ross also shared his belief that TNA also has some talent that may interest WWE down the road, but for now, the primary focus is acquiring their tape library.

‘Now, you know, TNA does have some talents I’m sure WWE would like to have down the road,” said Ross. “But now I hear that WWE and TNA have had talks about buying the library and that a deal is imminent.”
