AEW announcer and Senior Advisor “Good Ole’ J.R.” Jim Ross recently took to his “Grilling Jr” podcast to talk about topics such as how he got pissed off at Brock Lesnar when The Beast Incarnate attempted to hit a Shooting Star Press on WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle during their match at WWE’s WrestleMania XIX for the WWE Championship.
Jim Ross said:
“I don’t need to see a 300-pound man doing a Shooting Star Press, and when he did it at WrestleMania XIX, I was pissed. Why do it? It’s a spot. That’s all it is, and a guy that’s a national champion should be able to convincingly beat his adversary in various ways without risking his godd*amn career.”
Brock Lesnar would attempt to hit a Shooting Star Press on WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle in the middle of their match at WWE’s WrestleMania XIX, but Lesnar ended up concussing himself. Lesnar would end up winning the match and the WWE Championship.
