Kenny Omega Talks To F4WOnline.com

Kenny Omega Reveals Specific Details On AEW Contract, WWE Negotiations

At the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Double Or Nothing Ticket Announcement Party in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, Kenny Omega, who was announced as signing with the upstart promotion as a talent and as the Executive Vice President, spoke with veteran pro wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Featured below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On negotiating with WWE, AEW and NJPW and how he was surprised at how pleasant the WWE negotiations went: “The most surprising thing to me was just how accommodating and how cool it was to discuss, you know, future with WWE. I didn’t think they’d ever be in the running. I was like ‘yeah, I’ll hear you guys out’ but I didn’t think it’d be good because everyone was telling me, well, what to expect.

“I have nothing but great things to say about them, but in the end, AEW was the best thing for me and, you know, it’s the most exciting choice I’ve made in my career.”

On his four-year AEW contract allowing him to still appear for NJPW: “I have it specifically written in my contract that I can go anytime I want and appear for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).”
