WWE has been airing vignettes hinting at the debut of a new wrestler and the rumors are true – it’s for former AEW wrestler Rey Fenix.

Fightfulselect.com reports that Fenix has officially signed a contract with WWE and as the vignettes would suggest, he is penciled to debut on the Smackdown brand. However, there is no word on what date WWE is locking down as a target however Fenix has been working on getting his medicals out of the way in recent weeks.

The report adds that after getting an early release from AEW after the relationship quickly soured, he isn’t expected to speak much about his time there – the same as his brother Penta. While not mentioned in the fightful story, it’s possible that not speaking about AEW were included in the terms of his release.
