WWE undertook a pretty significant roster purge last night with Shayna Baszler, Braun Strowman and Dakota Kai heading up the list of more than 15 stars who are leaving the company.
Wrestlers who were signed to main roster contracts such as Strowman and Baszler would have 90-day non-compete clauses if they were given their release while others may have been told that their deals would not be renewed. Talent signed to NXT deals would fall under the same situation except they would have 30-day non-compete clauses attached. Wrestlers who are under non-competes are paid during that time.
Fightfulselect.com reports that Dakota Kai has already gained interest from outside companies and top agents within wrestling and it is expected she will garner plenty of offers to compete elsewhere. Baszler’s release surprised many as she had just re-signed with WWE last year and was helping out quite a bit in NXT lately. Jakara Jackson’s release while surprising was expected by some as she recently was split from Lash Legend.
