According to Fightful Select, pro wrestling veteran Sheamus, whose real name is Stephen Farrelly, is now a free agent after leaving WWE. He has updated his social media accounts to reflect his real name. The report also mentioned that Sheamus is no longer bound by a non-compete clause with WWE and is available to sign with another promotion.
Additionally, the report indicated that The Acclaimed, consisting of Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, are no longer under contract with AEW as their agreement has recently expired. Although they are still listed on the AEW roster page and could possibly sign a new deal, WWE has expressed interest in the duo. At one point, they were one of the hottest tag teams, and their partnership with Billy Gunn turned the phrase “Scissor me, Daddy Ass!” into a popular catchphrase that sold many T-shirts. However, they have not received as much of a push recently, with Gunn now working with Brady Booker and Elijah Drago in Ring of Honor.
Sheamus has held nearly every title in WWE during his career and would be a significant acquisition for any company, likely commanding a higher fee than most would be willing to pay. It’s hard to envision either Sheamus or The Acclaimed being without a major promotion contract for long.
