As previously reported, former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida has announced that she has renewed her work visa and her contract with the company.
According to the latest Fightful Select Answers, Shida’s new AEW contract is a multi-year deal. It was also noted that her absence from the Worlds End 2024 event raised some eyebrows, particularly since Shida resides in that area. However, the report indicates that everything is now “smooth sailing” for Shida, and she will be staying with AEW for the foreseeable future.
Additionally, the report mentions that Shida is well-liked within AEW, and her presence has been missed during her time away due to work visa issues. Shida has not wrestled in AEW since November 2024, when she lost to Kris Statlander, the current holder of the AEW Women’s World Title. However, she did compete several times in Japan throughout this year.
