The rumors continue to make the rounds regarding Brian "Road Dogg" James stepping down as head writer for WWE SmackDown Live, and the latest details are particularly interesting.
Brian “Road Dogg” James stepping down as one of the head writers for Smackdown Live was said to mainly be due to frustration, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
James would always be on the road wherever the show was taking place and he would split that time with being at home in Pensacola, FL and Skyping into meetings with Vince McMahon that would take “all night.” Other days he would be in the Stamford offices and attend the meetings live until the morning hours.
The belief is that the frustration came as a result of working all those hours and putting Smackdown together only for it to basically be “torn apart” and re-done by Vince at the production meetings on Tuesday afternoons.
It is also being noted that McMahon “dressed down” James on more than occasion about “product continuity issues”, which interestingly WWE has now posted an official position online for that they are looking to fill.
