— Drew McIntyre’s contract situation has been a hot topic of rumors over the last several weeks with reports still suggesting that he has not yet signed a new deal with WWE. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that his current agreement expires in late May after having time tacked on (due to injury) from the original end-of-2023 expiry.
— The report adds that WWE fully expects that he will be re-signing to the point that he is being advertised on multiple shows beyond his contract expiration. McIntyre had previously talked about taking time off if he felt creatively unfulfilled but the feeling is that he is “very much” satisfied now and is seen as one of WWE’s top full-time wrestlers alongside Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The report concluded by saying that there is a strong belief internally that WWE talent whose deals are running out are far less likely now to make the jump to AEW.
