Lio Rush released emails that he sent to WWE management in regards to multiple racial insensitivity incidents that he had to endure behind-the-scenes in the company.

Reports last year had surfaced that Rush rubbed many people the wrong way by not respecting veterans while also inviting his wife/fiancee into the women's locker room.

In the aforementioned leaked emails that Lio Rush sent to the company, the pro wrestling star told his side of the story to WWE management, which fans can now read in full in Rush's own words.

"For too long now I’ve dealt with a lot of bad publicity, rumors and stories on the internet that attack, not just me as a wrestler, but attack my integrity," wrote Rush in a statement that he included along with the photos of the emails he sent to WWE about the racial insensitivity incidents. "The attacks on my character have gone on too long without my side being heard. With everything going on in the world and a lot of social issues being brought to the forefront, I have to empower others by empowering myself.

"How can we expect change without sharing the experiences that illustrate the insensitivity that divides us? Please be clear, I am in no way insinuating that the WWE is a racist company, nor am I commenting on the racial attitudes of any of the companies individuals," he continued. "However, this email shows that I expressed concerns of racial insensitivity and my feelings as a young African American male to the WWE office during the incidents that have brought so much negativity to my name."

Rush concluded the statement attached to the leaked email photos by quoting the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
