The fallout from the debut All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view on Saturday night was felt in Houston, Texas on Sunday in the form of a cancelled independent pro wrestling event.
The Lucha Empire indy promotion cancelled their “WAR IN TEXAS” event on Sunday in Houston and claimed that injuries sustained by The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) in their match with The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) at the AEW Double Or Nothing PPV in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday evening was the reason.
“EVENT CANCELLED,” wrote Lucha Empire in a post on their official Twitter feed on Sunday morning. “Last night during AEW show “Double or Nothing” the Lucha Brothers [Pentagon Jr.] & [Rey Fenix] got injured and were not able to travel today.”
The statement continued, informing fans who purchased tickets to the “WAR IN TEXAS” show on Sunday how to go about getting refunds
“If you bought your tickets online [at Ticketon.com], please call 1-800-668-8080.”
