WWE No Mercy

Main Event For SmackDown World Title Set For WWE No Mercy Pay-Per-View

At the post-Backlash edition of SmackDown Live on Tuesday night in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the main event for the second blue brand exclusive pay-per-view was announced.

As advertised, new SmackDown World Champion AJ Styles addressed the WWE Universe during the show to talk about winning the title from former champion Dean Ambrose at Sunday’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view.

The segment led to John Cena and Ambrose coming down to the ring to confront Styles, with both guys making it clear that they plan to come after him and his title. Eventually, SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon made his way out and announced a triple-threat match between all three guys at the next SmackDown Live exclusive PPV event.

With that being said, you can officially pencil in AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena for the SmackDown World Championship for the WWE No Mercy pay-per-view, which takes place on Sunday, October 9th, live from Sacramento, California.
