A King of the Death Match Tournament veteran took to social media to address the failed ring explosion that culminated the highly-anticipated Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match for the AEW Championship between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley at this past Sunday night’s AEW Revolution 2021 pay-per-view.
WWE Hall Of Fame legend Mick Foley took to his official Twitter feed on Monday to issue a statement and a funny photo addressing the dud of a ring explosion that was supposed to finish off Jon Moxley after his loss to Kenny Omega in the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match for the AEW Championship at the PPV over the weekend.
Featured below is the hot take given by “The Hardcore Legend” regarding the failed ring explosion:
SAD, BUT TRUE!
I’ve been there – at the 1995 KOTDM when the exploding ring underperformed.
I feel bad for Mox & Omega, but suggest that AEW deep-six the Kenny built a crummy ring story, and just admit that mistakes happen…and will learn from this mistake.
Just my opinion.
The Twitter statement from “The Hardcore Legend” also included a top-and-bottom split-screen photo, with the top-half showing an enormous explosion of a pro wrestling ring in flames that reads, “What I ordered on wish.com,” and the bottom-half showing a photo of the failed ring explosion from the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match at AEW Revolution 2021 with a caption that reads, “What I got.”
