More Backstage News on Potential SummerSlam Venue & Date

— As noted previously, multiple sources are reporting that WWE is set to hold SummerSlam in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Allegiant Stadium even though WWE has yet to make this official. While it is considered all but confirmed, the Sports Business Daily reported today that along with Allegiant Stadium, WWE is also considering Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, NRG Stadium in Houston, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Either way, it will be the first SummerSlam held in a stadium in the US as the only other edition in such a venue was in 1992 at Wembley Stadium.

— The date for SummerSlam is also not finalized as it was said that WWE was looking at a Saturday event on August 21. The wrench in the plans came after a Manny Pacquiao vs. Errol Spence Jr. fight was finalized for that same day in Las Vegas, prompting WWE to reconsider. The dates that are now being considered include August 7 (Saturday) or August 22 (Sunday) though the 21st is still being shown as provisional with WWE preferring to have the event on a Saturday.
