— After months of back-and-forth negotiations, Drew McIntyre signing a new contract with WWE was revealed over the weekend by The Rock. In the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, hosts Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed details of McIntyre’s new contract.
— According to Meltzer, McIntyre has signed a three-year contract despite the fact that WWE has been attempting to get talent to sign longer, five-year deals. While financial terms aren’t confirmed, Meltzer speculated that McIntyre is likely one of the top paid wrestlers in the company, possible in the top “three or four” which if true, would potentially bring his annual salary in the four million dollar range.
— McIntyre is currently dealing with a hyper-extended elbow that will keep him off of house shows but he is expected to continue appearing on TV for WWE.
