More on Matt Riddle’s WWE Release; More Cuts Reportedly To Come

The wave of WWE releases is set to continue.

Just prior to this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown airing on FOX from Glendale, Arizona, longtime WWE Superstar Matt Riddle took to social media to confirm his departure from the company.

Riddle’s release adds to a total of 23 cuts made to both the WWE and NXT talent rosters. The updated list of talent released this week includes: Dolph Ziggler, Mustafa Ali, Elias, Shelton Benjamin, Rick Boogs, Riddick Moss, Emma, Aliyah, “Top Dolla” AJ Francis, Dana Brooke, Mansoor, Mace, Quincy Elliott, Shanky, Bryson Montana, Yulisa Leon, Dabba-Kato, Kevin Ventura-Cortez, Alexis Gray, Daniel McArthur, Ikemen Jiro, Brooklyn Barlow, and Matt Riddle.

According to PWInsider.com, Matt Riddle’s release from WWE occurred in the early evening on Friday, at approximately 5/4c. Riddle made his statement about his WWE release approximately 30-45 minutes before SmackDown went on the air at 8/7c.

Additionally, WrestleVotes has reported that more cuts to WWE talent are expected to be announced over the weekend.
