— Yesterday, a Wrestlenomics story indicated that morale within WWE employees has been tanking due to a number of factors including heavier workloads, limited pay increases, and the removal of some perks/benefits.
— PWInsider.com confirmed the report adding that with the company adding/purchasing PBR, and WWE now streaming the bull-riding organization on their YouTube channel, it has led to discussion internally amongst employees on how much more work they are having to complete while at the same time seeing many of their peers being let go. The report also confirmed that since the Endeavor takeover, bonuses given to WWE employees were “at a minimum” while raises were in the 3% range, which was described as simply keeping up with inflationary trends.
— The pwinsider story also noted that with WWE eliminating complimentary tickets for employees at events, it has been a huge source of discontent as the company replaced it with a program that gives employees a “VIP pre-sale password” which is simply a system where they have to actually purchase tickets, albeit at a discounted rate. Even requests by wrestlers who are considered at the top of the roster are being scrutinized and one belief making the rounds backstage is that these requests end up going to WWE President Nick Khan’s office for approval.
— Arguably the biggest source of unhappiness within WWE is that employees are growing more and more upset hearing about how great the company is doing financially, including record revenue and profits, yet they are not seeing raises and bonuses. To make matters worse, WWE is headed into their biggest revenue building period of the year with WrestleMania and while the company itself will reap significant financial rewards, those doing the dirty work with “boots on the ground” will not be seeing those benefits.
