— AEW’s current media rights agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery has only months left before it expires and negotiations between the two sides remain ongoing with fightfulselect.com reporting that a new deal is expected but not yet completed.
— Online rumors suggested that a deal is “imminent” with further reports believing that the two sides already have an agreement in principle, however, the fightful report states that sources within WBD have said nothing is truly imminent as the sides have not agreed on a framework for the deal. However, people from both sides still expect something to be hammered out in due time and most fully expect the WBD-AEW relationship to continue beyond 2024.
— AEW President Tony Khan and WBD CEO & President David Zaslav are both scheduled to be in Paris over the next couple of weeks for the 2024 Olympics and there is a plan in place for them to meet. This meeting has been planned for months and while they will have conversations about a potential new deal, it was stressed that there is no guarantee that an announcement will follow. It is believed that WBD has put an offer on the table to Khan and AEW but at this point, they have not accepted it and are continuing to negotiate for a better deal.
