The “Limitless Era” may have been cut short after tonight’s WWE NXT: TakeOver XXX where former NXT Champion Keith Lee lost his title to Karrion Kross, ending his reign as champion.
Karrion Kross defeated former NXT Champion Keith Lee during their main event match-up at the August 22, 2020 WWE NXT TakeOver: XXX with a Doomsday Seida for the pin and win.
Kross, who was arguably the most dangerous opponent Lee has had to face to date, had his sights set on the NXT Championship long before he was even a blip on Lee’s radar.
After weeks of back and forth rivalry between former NXT Champion Keith Lee and newcomer Karrion Kross, the two powerhouses finally met up at the WWE NXT: TakeOver XXX pay-per-view for a main event title match.
Keith Lee isn’t one to normally take a loss lying down and scurry away to lick his wounds, rather a superstar that will be lying in wait even if he’s injured.
Prior to the match, Lee had stated, “It’s about business more than anything else. The fact that [Kross] has angered me has done nothing but endanger him further.”
Lee went on to add, “Also, the fact that now he has the company sounding stupid because they dubbed the sound of a clock over an hourglass visual. Now they look like idiots, just like him, so that also upsets me.”
After tonight’s main event at the TakeOver 30 pay-per-view, Kross is now the champion of NXT, with Scarlett by his side. Only time will tell what this means for the future of NXT. Tick Tock.
