News & Notes on Released Wrestlers: Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Harry Smith & B-Fab

— Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado, two of the wrestlers who were given their released yesterday by WWE, had actually asked the company to be let go. Metalik asked several weeks back and it was expected he’d be included in the next batch of cuts. Neither wrestler was assigned a brand in the latest WWE draft, which was another sign they were on their way out.

— WWE’s idea for Harry Smith was for him to be one of the “biggest stars” for NXT UK since his father the late Davey Boy Smith was so popular there. However, with the COVID pandemic, travel was a big obstacle so the decision was made to keep him on the main roster but he only appeared in one dark match, got COVID, and there were no creative plans for him when he recovered.

— The release of B-Fab was surprise to some as she was just called up to Smackdown along with the other members of Hit Row and she reportedly just signed a new contract in recent days or perhaps recent weeks.
