According to PWInsider.com, several changes were made to the lineup of last Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FS1 due to COVID-19 concerns and listed below are those changes.
– The non-title match between Santos Escobar vs. WWE United States Champion Austin Theory and the WWE NXT North American Championship Match between WWE NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. The Brawling Brutes’ Butch were always planned for Friday night’s show and were even given extra time due to the changes that were made.
– One segment that was dropped from this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown was the planned announcement for WWE Women’s Champion Asuka’s opponents for WWE SummerSlam and this segment would have featured Asuka, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair and Adam Pearce. Reports are that it was pulled late in the day before the show aired.
– Only one match was dropped from WWE SmackDown itself and that was a bout between IYO SKY and Zelina Vega. Zelina Vega was replaced by “The Queen” Charlotte Flair to set up the WWE Women’s Title Matchup for next month’s SummerSlam, but Vega still remained backstage.
– A Singles Match between Rick Boogs vs. Odyssey Jones was removed as well, but this match would have taken place before SmackDown.
