Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize Comment On Walking Out Of AEW Collision Last Weekend

After some controversy over the weekend when the tag team of Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize reportedly walked out of a live AEW Collision due to disagreement over their creative booking, the duo has commented on the situation.

Streaming on Twitch, Newell (who wrestled as Tegan Nox in WWE) and her real life partner, Alize, stated that after cutting a promo two weekends ago and having a match against Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir, the team was under the assumption that they would be in action on Wednesday as part of the Ring of Honor tapings which in hindsight, didn’t happen.

According to Newell, the two went to Collision and were told “after the door opened” that they would be wrestling the team of Tay Melo & Anna Jay, but that the match would only run for three minutes. Newell said she felt that given the promo they cut the prior weekend, this was not going to benefit either team to have a match only three minutes long.

Perhaps contrary to reports, Newell claims that AEW officials said they were free to go home and and that there were no problems and “no bad blood on either side” when they decided to leave and that the situation was “respectful.” She criticized coverage of the incident by dirt sheets and suggested that due to the reports, she ended up receiving death threats the next day.

Newell also stated: “This is my last two years in wrestling, we’re already a year gone. So I want to have fun this last year. It is what it is.”

Alize posted a statement to her IG stories today:

“The moment you start standing up for yourself, everything shifts. Suddenly you’re the problem – not because you’ve changed, but because you’re no longer letting them take advantage of you. They’ll paint you as the villain, but that’s okay because you’re finally choosing yourself. This is where your freedom begins.”
