The working relationship between Ring Of Honor (ROH) and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) appears to have come to an end.
PWInsider.com and F4WOnline.com have confirmed recent reports making the rounds regarding the working relationship between ROH and NWA coming to an apparent abrupt conclusion.
According to sources close to both promotions, the two parted ways on amicable terms and the door is reportedly open for the two to potentially do business together again in the future.
NWA Champion Nick Aldis is no longer advertised for the 8/9 ROH Summer Supercard event in Toronto as a result of the working relationship coming to an end.
Aldis’ current story line in ROH called for him to defend his NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship against a Villian Enterprises member chosen by Marty Scurll at the ROH Summer Supercard show.
The mystery challenger was originally expected to be announced at the ROH Manhattan Mayhem event this past weekend, however there was no follow-up to the angle and it appears that it will simply be swept under the rug.
You can expect this to be addressed when Eli Drake takes part in a heavily-pushed “Open For Business” edition of the NWA digital series, “Ten Pounds Of Gold,” which drops live today on the official NWA YouTube channel (Watch Video Above).
Check out some of the hype for today’s big “Open For Business” announcement from Eli Drake below.
In related news, Dave Lagana, who has been producing pre-tapes for ROH over the last seven months, finished his commitments with the promotion this past weekend and is apparently done working with the promotion at this point.
