At the NXT TakeOver: Toronto event on Saturday night, which aired live via the WWE Network from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a new champion was crowned in the main event and history was made.
Samoa Joe defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in the headline bout of the evening on Saturday night, becoming the new NXT World Champion and the first-ever two-time NXT World Champion in the history of the brand.
