NXT TV Preview (2/27): Shayna Baszler vs. Mia Yim Headlines

WWE returns to the WWE Network this evening with their latest weekly episode of NXT TV from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

WWE.com released the following preview for tonight’s show:

WWE NXT preview, Feb. 27, 2019: The Queen of Spades takes The HBIC to task

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler looks to teach Mia Yim a lesson in respect when they face off in one-on-one competition, while Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic collide in a battle of dominant forces. Plus, Johnny Gargano has a message for the NXT Universe.

Will The HBIC get The Queen of Spades to put some respect on her name?

In just two words, Mia Yim got the attention of NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler: “Respect me!” During the Feb. 20 edition of NXT, the two competitors tangled in the middle of the ring and sparked an all-out brawl that drew assistance from WWE Performance Center trainees Lacey Lane, MJ Jenkins and Jessie Elaban (whom Yim previously stood up for against the Four Horsewomen) against Baszler’s cohorts Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke. At the end of the melee, as Shafir & Duke held her down, a resilient Yim hollered “Respect me!” at Baszler, who then rushed her with a running knee. A contentious bout is on the horizon when The HBIC battles it out with The Queen of Spades in singles action.

Can Yim triumph with over the reigning champion with a win and some R-E-S-P-E-C-T? Or will Baszler get the last word and her arm raised?

More teams to be announced for 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

This week’s edition of NXT will see four more teams added to the previously announced 2019 edition of the annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The tournament, which will culminate with the winning tag team challenging The War Raiders for the NXT Tag Team Titles at TakeOver: New York, already boasts a heavy-hitting lineup featuring The Street Profits, Undisputed ERA’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel and The Forgotten Sons. Who will complete the field before the tournament kicks off on March 6?

What’s next for Johnny Gargano?

After losing the NXT North American Championship to Velveteen Dream in a heart-pounding battle, Johnny Gargano now finds himself in a precarious position. He started the year with a promise to earn “wins and championships,” but he experienced a rude awakening in his battle against Dream. As the cold wind blows, what will Johnny Wrestling have to say about the recent events surrounding his championship loss?

Taynara Conti & Xia Li take on Vanessa Borne & Aliyah

It’s going to be a hard-hitting affair when the striking talents of Taynara Conti and Xia Li come together for action against the new alliance of Vanessa Borne & Aliyah. For Conti, retribution will undoubtedly be on the brain following the events that unfolded during her battle with Aliyah on the Feb. 13 edition of NXT. The self-proclaimed “Real Black Belt of NXT” found herself overwhelmed by Borne and Aliyah’s newly forged union when The Vision distracted Conti, allowing Aliyah to snag the victory. With Xia Li by her side, can Conti even the score and put a stop to the newly formed duo’s trickery? Or will Borne & Aliyah once again shine on their haters?

“Limitless” Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic prepare for head-on collision

Prepare for a whirlwind to sweep inside Full Sail Live when the forces of Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic collide on NXT. The two imposing towers will come to blows in what’s sure to be an epic collision.

The 320-pound Lee has been nothing short of “Limitless” since his debut on the black-and-gold brand, while the 270-pound Dijakovic has given the NXT Universe plenty of reasons to “feast” their eyes on his warpath. Which of these powerhouses will be left standing this week on WWE Network?
