Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the NXT UK Recap! Tonight is a special edition of the show, as the black and gold brand presents NXT UK Prelude.
NXT UK Prelude(4/8/21)
⁃ The show kicks off with a video package, and Andy Shepherd gives a quick rundown of the card. After that, the usual opening intro plays, and Nigel McGuiness, along with Andy, welcome viewers to the B.T. Sports Studios. Tyler Bate makes his way to the ring, and he’s in the first match.

Tyler Bate w/ Trent Seven vs Noam Dar w/ Sha Samuels
Round 1
The first round bell rings, and both men tie up immediately. Bate runs Dar into the ropes, and Noam chops him. Both men tie up again, and struggle for position. Bate finally gains the upper hand, and make a cover attempt, but Dar kicks out. Both men continue to grapple around the ring, until Bate scores a surprise roll up to pick up a point.

Round 2
Round two kicks off, and both men tie up again. Bate takes Dar to the mat, and Dar quickly reverses into a submission hold. Dar drives his elbow into the knee of Bate, and nearly scores a pin fall. Bate powers out, and applies a head lock. Dar works out of the hold, and locks on a submission of his own. Sha Samuels shouts instructions from outside the ring, and Dar goes for a cover. Bate kicks out, and follows up with a dropkick on Dar. Bate tries a cover, and both men tie up again, as time runs out on the round.
Round 3
The third rounds starts off with a test of strength, and Dar floors Bate with a kick. Noam turns up the volume on Tyler, and starts to stomp all over his body. Bate briefly fights back, but gets taken down with a spinning back elbow, followed by a cover attempt. Bate kicks out, and Dar remains on the attack. Noam targets the knee of Bate, and then slams him into the mat for a pin attempt. Tyler kicks out once again, and gets Irish whipped into the corner. Bate ends up on the top rope, and takes Dar down, but grabs his knee. Bate does an airplane spin on Dar for the final 30 seconds, and the round comes to a close.
Round 4
Another round begins, and both men are tired. Dar is still dizzy, and Bate does another airplane spin. Tyler finally dumps Dar, and smacks him down to the mat for a cover attempt. Dar manages to kick out, and counties to show fight, until shaking loose of Bate. Noam connects with a sliding forearm to the jaw, and tries a cover, but Bate kicks out. Dar continues to work on the knee, until Bate catches him with a strike to the face. Bate tries to stay in control, but catches another shot to the knee, and an elbow to the top of the head. Bate gets tied up in the ropes, and Noam kicks him to the mat. Both men go down to the mat, an time runs out on the round.
Round 5
The round 5 bell rings, and both mean are looking worse for ware. They exchange strikes, until Dar locks in a submission hold to the injured knee. Tyler immediately taps, and “The Scottish Supernova” wins the round.
Tied 1-1
Round 6
The bell quickly rings, and Bate hits a suplex right away. Noam gets up limping, and that allows Dar to get a roll up. Bate kicks out, and hits a rolling kick on Dar. Tyler heads to the top rope, and Sha Samuels distracts him. Seven interferes, and they both fight, until Bate tosses Noam on top of them. Tyler also dives onto Seven and Samuels, allowing Noam to capitalize. They go back into the ring and Dar sets up for the Nova Roller, out of the corner. Tyler hits a forearm instead, and hits the Tyler Driver ‘97 for the win.
Winner: Tyler Bate(2-1)
⁃ After the match, NXT UK Champion WALTER, and challenger Rampage Brown are shown entering the arena.
⁃ At the performance center, Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster talk about getting “back on top”, and do some training.
⁃ A video package highlights Ilja Dragunov’s recent breakdowns, and the show heads to a break.
⁃ Back from the break, Jack Starz and Piper Niven are at the PC. Jack Starz says he is “ready”.
⁃ Jordan Devlin pops in via FaceTime, and he says he will be back in NXT UK as the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion.
⁃ Meiko Satomura makes her way to the ring, and she’s in a tag team match.
Meiko Satomura & Emilia McKenzie vs Isla Dawn & Kay Lee Ray
McKenzie and Isla start off the match, and immediately exchange fists. Isla quickly applies a headlock, and McKenzie reverses the pressure into a roll up. Dawn kicks out, and gets taken down again by McKenzie. Emilia makes a tag, and Satomura backs Dawn off. Ray tags in, and both women tie up. Satomura shoots Ray off, and hits a shoulder tackle, followed by a quick drop kick for a pin attempt. Ray kicks out, and Meiko goes to work on the arm briefly. Ray regains control, and take Meiko into the heel corner. Both women double team Satomura with fast tags, until Isla goes to work on Meiko. Satomura stats to fire up, and starts slinging kicks, before making a cover attempt. Dawn kicks out, and McKenzie tags in. Emilia hits a big forearm, and tries another cover on Dawn. Dawn scurries away, and tags in Ray. Ray tries a gory bomb, but McKenzie reverses, and she’s a house of fire. McKenzie hits a spear on Ray, and tries a cover, but Ray kicks out. Dawn hits Meiko on the apron, which distracts McKenzie, and allows the heels to take control. Ray tags out, and Isla continues to work over Emilia, until nailing a suplex for a pin attempt. McKenzie kicks out, but the punishment continues, until Emilia stuns Dawn with a takedown. Both women make a tag, and Satomura runs in with Ray. Ray blocks a few attempts, until Meiko hits a bicycle kick. Satomura makes a cover, but Dawn interferes, and stops the count. Ray and Meiko start a hockey fight, until Ray hits a gory bomb for a pin. McKenzie interferes, and catches a super kick from Dawn. Ray is left standing, but Satomura comes to life. Meiko applies a face lock, but Dawn hands Ray the rope to stop the hold. Ray tags in Dawn, and she tries a quick cover, but Meiko stays in it. Ray and McKenzie fight on the outside, until Emilia tags in. Isla goes for a fisherman’s suplex, but McKenzie reverses, and scores a roll up for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Meiko Satomura & Emilia McKenzie
⁃ Once the match comes to a close, Aoife Valkyrie makes her way to the stage. She lays down a feather “for fallen foes”, and that’s a challenge to Meiko.
⁃ Heritage Cup Champion A-Kid calls in via Zoom, and shares his thoughts on facing Tyler Bate soon.
⁃ Amir Jordan looks for Kenny Williams, but he finds Sid Scala, who sets up a match between the two.
⁃ Kenny Williams is interviewed after, and he says “I carried Amir”.
⁃ Andy announces Gallus will be the guests on next weeks “Supernova Sessions” with Noam Dar, and the show goes to another break.
⁃ On the other side of the break, Saxon Huxley vs Nathan Frazer is announced for next week.
⁃ A video package recaps the dominant title reign of WALTER, and highlights the segment that set up tonight’s main event.
⁃ Rampage Brown makes his way down the ramp, and it’s time for the main event.
NXT UK Championship
WALTER(c) vs Rampage Brown
After the big championship introductions, the bell rings, and both men tie up. They struggle for position, and go into the ropes, before Brown lays in chops to WALTER. Rampage runs the ropes, and through a chop, before rebounding with a shoulder tackle. Brown Irish whips WALTER into the corner, and the champ explodes out with a shove. Brown takes WALTER to the outside, and Rampage is in full control of the match. Both men fight on the outside, and the ref begins to count, until they both roll into the ring. WALTER ties brown up on the ropes with a submission hold, until the ref forces a break. WALTER starts to take over, and applies a wrist lock on Rampage, who is on the mat. WALTER hits a few knees, followed by big chops, and takes Brown back to the mat. WALTER applies a Boston crab, and Brown grabs the ankle to break the hold. WALTER releases, and tries a suplex, but Rampage counters with a slam of his own. Both men go down, and both are gasping for air. They make it back up, and exchange thunderous shots, until WALTER chops Rampage down to the mat. WALTER applies a lateral press, and Brown kicks out. WALTER applies a head lock, and wares down Rampage. Brown manages to make it to his feet, and he’s still fighting. They exchange big blows again, until Brown lands a huge takedown on the Champion. Both men are looking like they are in pain, and Brown makes it his feet first. They clash with the same attempted move, until WALTER tries a power bomb. Rampage reverses, and hits a forearm under the jaw of the champion, taking both down again. Brown get back up, and heads to the top rope, before crashing down for a pin attempt. WALTER amazingly kicks out at one, and Brown tries to keep the pressure on. Rampage goes for the doctor bomb, but WALTER counters, and applies a sleeper hold. Brown shakes him off, but gets hit with a dropkick. WALTER follows up with a powerbomb, and covers for the 1-2-NO! Brown kicks out, and both men struggle for air. WALTER goes to the top rope for a splash, and Brown meets him up there. Rampage hits an avalanche power slam, and makes the cover for the close near fall. Brown tries to follow up, but gets caught in a sleeper. Rampage and fights out, and tries a suplex, but WALTER escapes briefly, before getting hit with a doctor bomb. WALTER wisely rolls to the ropes, and Brown is unable to make the cover. Brown drags him back to the center, and pummels him with shots. Brown sets up for the finisher again, but WALTER hits a back drop to escape. WALTER follows up with a chop to the neck, and Walter hits a big lariat. WALTER hits another, and makes the cover for the 1-2-NO!! NO!! Both titans of the ring are down, and the match somehow keeps going. WALTER once again lock on the sleeper hold, until Brown gets to the rope. WALTER hits a suplex, followed by a power bomb, for a close near fall. WALTER heads to the top rope, before nailing the big splash, and sealing the deal on another successful title defense.
Winner, and still: WALTER
Nigel puts the win over in a huge way, and WALTER stands tall, as the show fades to black.
