NXT’s New Doctrine Gives Talent Two Years to Make it To TV

– WWE has officially eliminated the “2.0” out of NXT branding as of last week’s show and apart from the colorful logo also disappearing and being replaced with the more traditional black-and-gold, it would mean Vince McMahon’s rebranding of NXT is officially done.

– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that with the change in regime, there appears to be a new “doctrine” in NXT, or perhaps a strong recommendation rather than a rule, that moving forward, anyone who is signed to the brand has two years to become “good enough” to make it to NXT television. If the talent isn’t up to the mark after that time period, they would be cut. It is believed that a lot of wrestlers are already “on the clock” and in danger of getting released.
