Early box office numbers for the sequel to “The Suicide Squad” starring John Cena as ‘The Peacemaker’ are in.
According to Variety, the movie drew $26.5 million via 4,002 theaters in North America for the opening weekend. The film cost $185 million to produce.
The synopsis for the film directed by James Gunn and featuring the future WWE Hall of Fame legend reads as follows:
“Super-Villains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X where they are heavily-armed and dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.”
