Pat McAfee was quick to jump on social media following the shocking conclusion of Sunday night’s NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day 2021 special event.
As noted, the Valentine’s Day black-and-gold brand special event concluded with Adam Cole attacking Finn Balor and his own teammate in The Undisputed ERA, Kyle O’Reilly, before walking off as Roderick Strong looked confused at what had just transpired.
One man who wasn’t confused was the aforementioned McAfee.
The former NFL star turned podcast host and former WWE NXT competitor took to Twitter as soon as the NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day 2021 special event went off-the-air from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, to essentially post some “I told you so!” messages directed at the WWE and NXT Universe.
“Who would’ve thought,” wrote McAfee via Twitter in reference to the closing segment at Sunday night’s WWE NXT show. “Adam Cole’s a certified scumbag? Color me surprised.”
Things didn’t stop there.
McAfee hopped on Twitter a few more times before things were all said-and-done on Sunday night, posting additional tweets aimed directly at the Internet Wrestling Community, which he described as “by far the dumbest group of humans on the internet.”
“Internet Wrestling Community, I am now accepting your apologies in abundance,” wrote McAfee in a follow-up post released via his official Twitter feed. “You are by far the dumbest group of humans on the internet, you could’ve never known your hero was a treasonous scumbag but, I knew it all along. Please use #PatWasRight in your apology tweets.”
This led to him posting yet another tweet in an attempt to get the “#PatWasRight” Twitter hashtag campaign in full swing.
“Pretty easy answer here right,” wrote McAfee in another tweet after the NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day show referencing Adam Cole. “He’s a scumbag. That’s why. I’ve been saying it ALL ALONG.”
McAfee concluded, “You stooges wouldn’t listen. Say it with me you dum dums.. #PatWasRight.”
