A WWE star might be nearing her return after almost a year out with an injury. Kiana James was drafted to Raw from NXT in May 2024 and had a brief stint on the roster, competing in two matches on Raw and two on Main Event before suffering a long-term leg injury.
Recently, WWE updated James’ profile image on its website, suggesting she’s far along in her recovery. Given she’s been out for 11 months, with an initial expectation of “upwards of six months” for her recovery, there are speculations about her potential return.
When James first debuted on Raw, she seemed poised to play a role as an assistant to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. In her short time on Raw, James won a match against Natalya and participated in a three-way match with IYO SKY and Zelina Vega, which SKY won. She also won both of her WWE Main Event matches against Ivy Nile and Natalya.
In other NXT news, Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe have officially been named as “The High Ryze” following a trademark filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The name was confirmed on the May 12 episode of NXT during Lee’s match against Tony D’Angelo. The trademark covers wrestling performances and related media content, solidifying the group’s identity.
