Top AEW star Mercedes Moné currently holds 12 wrestling championships across AEW, CMLL, and various independent promotions. The reasons behind her recent bookings were discussed by Sean Ross Sapp in the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers.

According to Sapp, independent wrestling promotions contact Moné’s management to book her for their events, seeking the exposure that comes with having a top AEW star competing. These promotions typically choose to have Moné win their top women’s titles on their own initiative, rather than her demanding to secure these victories.

This information follows a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which stated that an indie promotion approached Moné’s team regarding a potential booking and was quoted a price of $25,000 per appearance. While some may be surprised at the high asking price, Sapp noted that he has spoken with top stars in AEW who have indicated they would not accept bookings outside of AEW for anything less than $30,000.

Recently, Moné won her 12th wrestling title after defeating Jody Threat to claim the Winnipeg Professional Wrestling Women’s Title. This victory has allowed her to surpass the previous record held by Ultimo Dragon, who had 10 simultaneous wrestling titles.
