Former WWE wrestler Ridge Holland has been involved in a bit of a controversy over the last week after being informed his contract with WWE was not going to be renewed, prompting him to publicly vent his frustrations which only caused the company to immediately release him due to the disparaging comments.
Holland appeared on Busted Open Radio today and spoke of his release while revealing that he is looking to undergo neck fusion surgery next year, likely in May. He also revealed that as far as he understands, WWE is indeed going to pay for the surgery.
Whether this is a new development or remains unclear as Holland previously indicated that WWE was not going to pay for the surgery, only the rehab associated with his existing foot injury that he suffered while working for the company on a TNA event.
“I have an appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday about my neck. C5-C6 fusion looking likely. So probably looking around May of next year.”
“So what’s going to happen now, since it’s an open case. WWE is going to pay for the surgery.”
When asked if WWE is also going to pay for the associated rehab coming out of the surgery, Holland responded “I believe so. Unless something else happens.”
