— In what could be one of the biggest stories of the years, it appears that CM Punk is finally ready to head back to the wrestling ring if a report from fightfulselect.com proves accurate. The story notes that Punk has been in “ongoing talks” for a return with sources suggesting that AEW will most likely be his destination. While there is nothing confirmed as far as a contract being signed or a timetable on when he will appear or any creative plans, Punk has been in talks with AEW for a while according to Dave Meltzer of the Observer but other promotions are also showing interest. However, WWE sources believe that he is headed to AEW. Punk hasn’t wrestled since 2014, walking out of WWE at that time before dabbling a bit in MMA and some commentary work.
