At Saturday’s WWE-AAA Worlds Collide event, Mr. Iguana made his WWE debut and made a splash while doing so.
As seen on the show, the American audience in Los Angeles and worldwide were mainly getting their first look at the AAA star and his popularity was immediately obvious. The immediate internal reaction from WWE officials according to fightfulselect.com was to find a way to get him to the Intuit Dome for Money in the Bank in some capacity and when she was shown in the audience, the reaction from the audience didn’t disappoint.
The report added that there was a consensus praise for his performance on Saturday and that WWE was impressed at how well it translated to social media activity so the hope is that they are able to bring him in for some possible future NXT appearances. Further to that, Mr. Iguana was reportedly popular among the WWE roster itself with many wrestlers asking for pictures with him and when he was positioned behind the commentary booth at Money in the Bank, he was approached for “dozens of photos” as well. Backstage, WWE officials stated that Mr. Iguana was a “pleasure” to work with and that he was happy to do anything they asked of him despite a busy Saturday.
While R-Truth’s t-shirt “sold like crazy” during Money in the Bank weekend, Mr. Iguana merchandise also performed extremely well and WWE is already discussing plans to appropriately market his merch including coming out with iguana puppets.
