Could a SmackDown Live Reunion be soon to follow after Monday night’s massive RAW Reunion show at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida?
It seems that way.
For now, at least.
The original plan for the debut of WWE SmackDown Live on FOX when the show moves to the network on October 4th after they wrap up their current deal with USA Network was to do a similar “reunion” type of show that will be taking place on Monday night’s edition of WWE RAW.
According to Dave Meltzer and Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it feels like a case of “going to the well too fast” to have two such shows in late July and again in early October, however at this point it is a go and both WWE and FOX will begin promoting it starting in mid-September.
Additionally, there is also said to be a good chance that this show will also be promoted as the 20th Anniversary celebration for SmackDown Live, despite the fact that the show debuted in April of 1999 (as a pilot) and went to a weekly show in August of 1999.
