— Earlier this month, news broke that one of WWE’s top stars, Seth Rollins, has signed a new, lucrative multi-year contract to remain with the company for the foreseeable future. While financial terms weren’t released, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Rollins’ new deal would likely make him one of the highest paid wrestlers in the company given the timing of his signing. Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, also has an expiring contract but hasn’t yet agreed to terms, however, the report notes that a re-signing is inevitable given their relationship.
— The Observer added that Tony Khan and AEW have made it a focus to be “very aggressive” in going after free agents this year, but the reality of the situation is that it is not expected that many WWE wrestlers whose contracts are expiring are going to be jumping ship. Not only is the pay the highest it has ever been, but WWE is currently in its best situation ever financially speaking and this has translated to a much better schedule and working conditions for talent, not to mention with the product hot, many of the wrestlers feed off this sort of a fan response making it more likely they will stay.
