In what is rare for the company, Rey Mysterio is reportedly working for WWE without a contract.
Originally signed to a contract in September 2018, his deal has expired but both Mysterio and his son, Dominik, continue to not only work for WWE but are featured heavily in a program with Seth Rollins.
It was previously reported that Mysterio might be looking at leaving WWE but he also didn’t want to complicate the relationship and make things more difficult for Dominik, who is training at the WWE PC gearing for an in-ring debut soon.
Although not yet announced, Meltzer is also reporting that the plan for WWE Extreme Rules later this month is for Mysterio and Rollins to wrestle in an “eye for an eye” match where the only way to win the match would be to take out your opponent’s eye.
