Riddle/WWE Updates

Riddle Contract Expiring Soon, WWE Trying To Re-Sign Him & Possibly Change His Character?

Matt Riddle’s WWE contract is set to expire this coming August and the company is negotiating with him on a new multi-year deal.

The belief is that the two sides have pretty much agreed on a new three-year contract that will pay Riddle $1.2 million.

That would guarantee him a base annual salary of $400,000 and he would also get an additional $50,000 for each event in Saudi Arabia that he ends up working.

The backstage feeling on Riddle as far as Vince McMahon goes is that McMahon doesn’t understand the “Bro” gimmick but finds that the vignettes that Riddle is doing “hilarious”, however, a comedy direction is not all that promising for his main event aspirations and the Observer likens it to a position similar to R-Truth.

There is, however, the possibility that if WWE manages to re-sign Riddle to a multiple-year contract to remain with the company for the long haul, it is likely that his character will undergo some changes as time goes on so that he would fit better in a higher profile position on the roster.

We will keep you posted here at eWrestling.com as updates regarding Riddle’s status with WWE continues to surface.
