Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently reacted to the WWE On FOX Twitter poll asking fans to choose between he and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as the G.O.A.T. of the pro wrestling business.
“The Great One” took that opportunity to shine his social media spotlight on the late WWE manager / backstage executive Harvey Wippleman (a.k.a. “Downtown Bruno”) before letting his own modesty shine through by making it clear that after Wippleman, “The Texas Rattlesnake” is a close number two.
“In wrestling? Easy answer; when I was 15 (broke & evicted) this man let me live with him in Nashville,” wrote The Rock on Saturday. “Downtown Bruno.”
He continued, “Most don’t know who Bruno is but a few do,” before claiming Austin should be ranked higher than him when talking G.O.A.T. in WWE history. “My brother Steve Austin comes in a very close second.”
The Rock’s tweet concluded with him writing, “Cheers to life’s wild and unpredictable journey. #goat.”
