Leading into Sunday’s WWE Fastlane 2019 pay-per-view, Roman Reigns has been making the media rounds. In an interview he did this week, Reigns spoke about the pressure on him to be “the guy” in WWE, particularly now that the previous “guy,” John Cena, is working a lesser schedule at this point in his career. Reigns also revealed what would be his dream match for WrestleMania. Featured below are some of the highlights.
On feeling the pressure to be ‘the guy’ in WWE: “I do believe I’ve always been the face of WWE. [With] a huge name like John Cena no longer being a full-time performer, I think there’s as much, if not more, pressure on me to do my job at a high level. I also think it’s across the locker room, you know, I’m not the only guy that feels that way. I guarantee you Seth Rollins feels the exact same way I feel, he feels that same pressure to perform, and to keep our product at a a premium.”
On his dream match for WrestleMania: “I think I’d like to close the show, and I think I’d like to wrestle Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship. I’d like to get my rematch one year from now.”
