“The Big Dog” has resurfaced before the WWE Universe, as Roman Reigns sounded off on a potential showdown against the first-ever NXT Double Champion “Limitless” Keith Lee in new comments made on Twitter by the WWE veteran on Friday.
As noted, Lee, who is now the NXT World Champion and NXT North American Champion after defeating Adam Cole in the “Winner Take All” champion versus champion main event at night two of the Great American Bash, spoke about his encounter with Reigns at WWE Survivor Series and his desire to test himself against “The Big Dog” in a one-on-one showdown.
“Roman doesn’t get enough credit for what he means to this sport,” Lee said during the interview with Sports Illustrated, which we posted earlier today. “And he went above-and-beyond to make that moment. The simple gesture of our fist bump, he turned that into magic.”
Lee added, “That was the start of something very special for me. He is such a superstar that he made that moment overshadow everything else that happened in that match, and I won’t forget it.”
After catching wind of Lee’s comments, Reigns took to Twitter and replied to a WWE Public Relations tweet promoting the aforementioned Sports Illustrated interview featuring the comments from “Limitless” about “The Big Dog.”
“Congrats on one hell of a journey Keith Lee,” wrote Reigns in his response on Twitter on Friday afternoon. “Still a ton of work to do, which I know you already know.”
Reigns concluded his response to Lee by making it clear that he, too, is still looking forward to an eventual one-on-one bout against the reigning NXT Double Champion.
“Keep killin’ it and representing,” Reigns wrote. “I definitely still want that one on one, Champ! .”
