AEW Evening News & Notes For August 9

Several Matches Added To Tonight’s AEW All Out PPV And Zero Hour Pre-Show

All Elite Wrestling is set to hold their All Out PPV Event later tonight from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, with AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy defending his AEW International Championship against the Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and AEW TNT Champion Luchasaurus defending his AEW TNT Championship against Darby Allin, among others.

Last night’s All Out go-home episode of AEW Collision saw the promotion announce several more matches to the lineup of tonight’s AEW All Out PPV. “Absolute” Ricky Starks took part in a segment with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, where Starks signed a contract to fight Steamboat in a Strap Match, believing he will actually face the pro wrestling legend in a match, but Steamboat told Starks the contract for AEW All Out said Dragon, The American Dragon, making the match between Starks and the returning Bryan Danielson official.

Last night’s AEW Collision also saw an AEW World Trios Title Match be made official for tonight’s All Out PPV Event between the AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn vs. Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal. This match was made after Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Karen Jarrett interrupted NBA legend Dennis Rodman and the Acclaimed and Daddy Ass came to Rodman’s aid. Daddy Ass then revealed that Rodman will be in their corner at All Out.

AEW also announced that tonight’s All Out Event will feature ROH Women’s Champion Athena teaming with Mercedes Martinez and Diamanté to face Skye Blue, Hikaru Shida and Willow Nightingale in Trios action during the Zero Hour Pre-Show and an Over-Budget Battle Royale also taking place during the Zero Hour Pre-Show.
