Shad Gaspard Update

Shad Gaspard Update: “It Does Not Look Good”; Photos Of Search For Missing Pro Wrestler

Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard is the subject of a massive ongoing search after he went missing following a swim he and his 10-year-old son went on during the day on Sunday in Venice Beach, California.

According to multiple sources, Gaspard and his son were among a group of people caught in a strong rip-current at approximately 4 pm, leading to lifeguards racing to the scene to pull everyone out.

While Gaspard’s son was luckily rescued, the longtime pro wrestling star has not yet been found.

One particular official that works with the Los Angeles Fire Department told members of the media on the scene that they believe the 39-year-old former WWE Superstar, best known for his run as one-half of the Cryme Tyme tag-team during his time with the company, “did submerge.”

This led to divers attempting to join the search, along with helicopters arriving on the scene to aid the search from an aeriel vantage point.

A witness on the scene during the events that went down during the early-evening hours of Sunday, May 17, 2020 in Venice Beach, California told celebrity-gossip website that at the point when lifeguards raced to the scene to rescue the group of swimmers caught in the rip-current, Gaspard was still in sight.

In fact, the witness claimed he was actually directing rescuers to the location of his 10-year-old son just prior to another big wave crashing down on the former WWE Superstar — which was the last time he was seen.

Longtime Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor Dave Meltzer took to his official Twitter page @DaveMeltzerWON to provide some more details he learned regarding the Gaspard situation.

According to a report published by Meltzer at after talking with a friend who is at the location in Venice Beach, rescuers attempted to locate Gaspard for over three hours after he was reportedly submerged in a rip-tide.

He was last seen at Marina Del Rey Beach.

Meltzer chimed in on social media again on Monday afternoon to provide another small update, and again, the news doesn’t look good.

“It does not look good,” Meltzer wrote via Twitter. “They continued the search this morning and no sign of him.”

He added another quick note after receiving another update from his sources at the location.

“Bleak is probably an optimistic term,” he tweeted a little after 1pm Eastern Time on May 18th. “Crushed.”
