Chris Jericho is not headed back to WWE.
That isn’t stopping a WWE producer from joking about it, though.
Shane “Hurricane” Helms took to social media to crack a joke in response to a tweet mentioning Chris Jericho’s stipulation for his match against MJF at the upcoming AEW All Out pay-per-view.
As previously reported, “Le Champion” is putting his in-ring career on-the-line in his fourth meeting against the leader of The Pinnacle at the 9/5 PPV, and noted that if he comes up short for a fourth straight time, he will retire from in-ring competition in AEW.
He did, however, already mention what his future would be — which is serving his gig as one of the commentators for the four-man announce team that calls the new AEW Rampage on TNT weekly series.
Helms, however, took the opportunity to joke about the specific wording of Jericho vowing to end his AEW in-ring career, claiming he is heading back to WWE.
“Jericho to WWE confirmed,” wrote Helms via his official Twitter feed when responding to a tweet about his upcoming high-stakes showdown on 9/5.

.@IAmJericho is proposing one more match with @The_MJF at #AEWAllOut on Sept. 5. If he can’t beat MJF, he will NEVER wrestle in #AEW again!
