At the NXT live event on Friday evening in San Jose, California, new Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic matches were taped.

The Authors of Pain advanced in the second-annual tournament with a win over the team of Rich Swann and No Way Jose, while Shane Thorne defeated Roderick Strong to advance his team to the next round.

Moving forward, TM-61 now faces Sanity and The Authors of Pain take on the team of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa in the tournament semi-finals. The finals of the tournament are scheduled to take place at NXT TakeOver: Toronto on November 19th.
