Spoilers For Tomorrow’s New Year’s Smash Episode Of AEW Rampage

All Elite Wrestling held TV Tapings for tomorrow’s New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Rampage inside the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The tapings took place immediately following last night’s New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Dynamite and featured Swerve Strickland taking on Blackpool Combat Club’s ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta in the main event.

– AEW President and CEO Tony Khan made his way out to announce that Paul Wight will be on the Rampage commentary team moving forward. Paul Wight will join Tony Schiavone, Excalibur and Kip Sabian at the commentary table.

– Orange Cassidy (c) def. Trent Beretta to retain his AEW All-Atlantic Championship.

– Kip Sabian def. an enhancement talent.

– Jon Moxley made his way down to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Moxley talked about making Hangman Page sleep like a baby with the concussion he gave him. Moxley then said the Blackpool Combat Club delivers better than anyone else in AEW and when the bell rings they don’t care about anyone’s safety. Moxley then knocked Hangman for not being able to get cleared because he’s hurt, but Moxley has been hurt for more than a decade but keeps fighting. Moxley then challenged Hangman Page to face him at the January 11th episode of AEW Dynamite in Los Angeles if he will be medically cleared by then.

– Jade Cargill (c) def. Kiera Hogan to retain her AEW TBS Championship.

– Swerve Strickland def. ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta after hitting him with a low blow and his Driver finisher.

Tomorrow’s New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Rampage is set to take place at 10PM ET on TNT.
